Your Guardian Angel

Notes :-
This is a piece I started a while back.
It's clearly unfinished but I thought I'd put it up for the heck of it.
If I end up finishing it I'll be sure to put up the rest
So here's 'Your Guardian Angel' -

She stood in front of him, her sapphire eyes glaring up at him as he yelled at her. “You’re a disgrace to us all! How could you let that happen to her? You were supposed to protect her!”
“Well she should have paid more attention! She can’t depend on me for the rest of her life!” she shot back. “Scarlet! You were her guardian! It’s your job to protect her” Demerits sighed, “When are you going to learn.” Fighting back tears she met his eyes “Maybe I never will” she wheeled around, ignoring the calls of her name, and fled to the only place she knew she would be free from all this.

Ethan looked up into the vast night sky, loosing himself in the sight of the sparking stars. As he gazed at the breath-taking scene he saw a start plummet. “A falling angel …” he muttered remembering what his grandmother would say when she saw a falling star. Shaking the memory away he clutched his coat a little closer to him and started on his way home.

Scarlet took in her surroundings with wide eyes. She was sitting in a park, the darkness broken only by the dim light coming from a lamppost a few feet away from her. The cold night air blew harshly against her and the light white dress she wore was unable to fend it off. She shuddered violently and unable to take it anymore, she hung her head down and let the tears streak silently down her face, her dark hair forming a curtain around her face. “Hey are you aright?” she looked up quickly, startled by the voice to see a boy with spiky brown hair and a look of genuine concern on his handsome face. Sapphire clashed with amber as their eyes met. Scarlet found herself smothered by the intensity in his warm eyes. “Well?” he asked, she shook her head in an attempt to clear it “I don’t…I don’t know” was her breathless reply, and it was true, she didn’t know anything anymore. A particularly cold gust blew and another violent shiver rocked her small frame and she drew up her arms around her in a futile attempt to protect herself. Ethan took of his coat and draped it gently across her shoulders. She jumped at the contact “Won’t you be cold?” she whispered. “I got this one,” he said pointing to the black hoddie he had on, a small smile on his lips. “Now come on” he said holding a hand out to her “I’m talking you home” With those words her head dropped back down, “I don’t have a home anymore” a tear streaked down her face and she quickly wiped it away. Ethan surveyed the girl, her face was paled from the bitter cold, unshed tears glistened in her eyes, her dark hair tangled from the wind. He had no choice; he couldn’t just leave her there. “Okay up you get” he bent down and lifted her, placing her on her feet. “Wha…” she started but was silenced by his finger on her lips “Your coming home with me, and don’t bother refusing, I can easily carry you” his lips pulling up into a smile. Too exhausted to protest Scarlet just nodded her head and let him put his arm around her and lead her away.

White Rose Tinted Red

This was her day

The brightest day of her dark life
Walking down the narrow isle clad in white lace
That cascaded down her smooth legs,
She felt a clam wash over her like a gentle wave
Stilling the butterflies fluttering within her
Golden ribbons of sunlight dance across her fair face
Illuminating her mocha eyes, rimed red from recent tears

The soft clatter of the piano plays in the distance
As she makes her way to him, her knight in shining armour
The one who would rescue her from her tormented past
Her eyes find him waiting patiently for her, her man of steel
She reaches for him grasping him almost desperately
His chill, like ice smothering her warmth
A smile glimmers across her face as they are joined
Pure white kissed by crimson red
Reality shimmers in and out of focus as he takes from her
And she complies, giving willingly to her saviour.

She feels herself being lifted away on angel’s immaculate wings
Leaving a fragile, broken body and a bloody blade behind

Yes, this was certainly her day of redemption
